Do scientists 'believe' anything?

Do scientists ‘believe’ anything?

Science can be done only if one believes
1.The concept of truth
2. That truth can be known
3. The universe is comprehensible and intelligible
4. Truth can be known by the scientific method
5. A faith in doubt. Otherwise he has to doubt his doubting and stop doubting.
6. Faith in the scientific works of others whom he doesn’t know and in scientific areas he doesn’t know
7. Faith in the regularity of natural laws ….that they won’t change.
8. Faith in the orderliness of the universe
To say that scientists don’t believe at all is a gross misunderstanding. All the founding fathers of modern science like Newton, Kepler, Faraday, Boyle, Mendal were all practising Christians who even wrote theological treatises.
